Born in Heidelberg, Germany, I grew up surrounded by different forms of creative expression. I work as a lawyer at a law firm, but my interests have always extended beyond a single profession.
I started producing music at a young age as Vaan, initially focusing on euphoric hardstyle, and was signed to a hardstyle label early on. Over time, I became less interested in staying within one genre and explored styles such as future and electro house, as well as drum and bass.
But I have always been captivated by video-game music. This led me to also focus on orchestral and atmospheric compositions, creating music centered around narrative, mood, and worldbuilding.
I compose under my own name, separate from my electronic music projects.
Alongside music, I am currently writing a high fantasy book series titled The Final Ember Series, and I enjoy creating landscape photography and videography, including within virtual worlds such as ELDEN RING.
Outside of creative work, I spend time lifting, reading manga, gaming, and playing e-guitar. Works such as Berserk and the titles by FromSoftware continue to influence my creative work, particularly in terms of worldbuilding, atmosphere, and musical direction.
